Invisalign can improve your smile in a number of different and exciting ways! Like braces, Invisalign is able to straighten crooked teeth, invisalignclose slight gaps between teeth, and help correct minor problems with bite alignment. What is different about Invisalign is that it improves your smile using clear aligner trays, a method that is both comfortable and discreet! At Randall Oaks Dental in Carpentersville, IL, Dr. Dan Adamo is your dentist for Invisalign!

 How Invisalign Works

Invisalign utilizes aligner trays to move problematic teeth into their proper positions. Covering both the top and bottom arches of teeth, these trays are custom made for each patient and are used to move teeth in a manner similar to braces, i.e. by gently exerting slight pressure on the teeth. Set in sequential order, treatment entails that patients wear a pair of aligners for one to two weeks before switching to the next pair in line. Over time, the gentle pressure from this sequence of trays nudges teeth into the final desired position.

 Advantages of Invisalign

Invisalign offers several benefits to patients looking to improve their smiles, with one huge advantage being how discreet the treatment is. The aligner trays used in Invisalign are clear, meaning that they are not readily noticeable to others. Additionally, the trays are removable so they can be taken out briefly for photos or other situations.

The removable feature of Invisalign’s aligner trays also offers other advantages. For instance, patients with Invisalign can enjoy a wider variety of foods than those with braces, due to how the trays can be taken out during meal times. The trays can also be removed when brushing and flossing, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.

Invisalign aligner trays are also very comfortable to wear, for they are made from a soft plastic material that is flexible and fits comfortably in the mouth. Unlike traditional braces, there are no hard metal or ceramic brackets and wires to irritate the mouth!
