End-of-Year Dental Benefits - Use It or Lose It

End-of-Year Dental Benefits

Use It or Lose It

Do you have dental insurance and are unsure of your annual benefits? A majority of our beloved patients have dental insurance that runs on a calendar year. What does this mean? Dental Insurance Clock Your Insurance Provider offers you a dollar amount to go towards most dental services per calendar year (usually running January through December). Most preventative work (Cleanings, Exams, X-rays, etc.) is covered with little to no out of pocket. Basic services (Periodontal Maintenance Cleanings, Fillings, Root Canals, some Oral Surgery, etc.) are covered on average around 80%. Most major services are covered on average around 50% (Crowns, Deep Cleaning, Invisalign, etc.). Once your insurance carrier has paid out your annual maximum you will be required to cover the cost of your services. All in-network patients will be
given a lower patient portion based on your specific insurance carrier’s contracted fees.  We highly encourage our patients to make the most of 2020 dental insurance benefits
before the end of the year. If you have any remaining insurance benefits they do not roll into 2021. We refer to this as Use It Or Lose It. We understand if you are a New Patient with an extensive treatment plan that it can be very overwhelming or scary. Dr. Adamo and the team at
Randall Oaks Dental want you to have the best care and to utilize your dental insurance benefits in a way that will work best for you, while feeling content in our family practice. If you have questions at any point we highly recommend giving the office a call. We love educating our patients and making sure they understand fully how the course of treatment will work best for them.
In addition to dental insurance most FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HSA (Health Saving Account) cards end on the last day of the year as well. Please make sure that if you plan on using these to pay for your services that you have the treatment done this year. Your FSA or HSA will likely require proof of your dental treatment along with dates. Our office is happy to accept these forms of payments. We also work closely with CareCredit and Lending Point to assist our patients with their dental needs. Questions about these payment methods for your dental treatment needs? Please visit the websites or call our office to see if you qualify.  No dental insurance? Check out our in house Randall Oaks Care Program to see if this would work for you are anyone you know! We understand insurance is not cheap or available to all people.
If you are due for a cleaning, have outstanding treatment, or are interested in a free consultation please call our office at 224-484-8221 or request an appointment so we can help you and your family with all of your dental needs. We look forward to hearing from you!
